Nassau County, N.Y.
Privacy policy
How Good Grieves handles your information. Last updated October 18, 2026.
The short version
You can use the property check, area pages, and guides without an account. We don’t use cookies or advertising trackers, and we don’t sell or share your information for advertising. We store an email address only when you ask us to send you something.
Addresses you search
The property checker sends the address you type to our service to find matching County records. We don’t keep the addresses you search unless you ask for a notice about a property.
Email requests
If you ask for a filing-window reminder, a message if records for your town are added, a watch on a property, or a message when our service opens, we store the email address you enter, your name if you give it, the property address the request is about, the kind of message you asked for, and the page you asked from. We use these details only to send what you asked for. We have not sent any of these messages yet.
Your location
If you choose “Show my area instead,” your browser asks before sharing your location. We round it to about ten meters, use it once to find your school district and neighborhood, and don’t store or log it.
Analytics
We use self-hosted, cookieless Umami analytics to count visits and the steps people take, such as opening a guide or whether a property search found a match. Events carry only a few fixed labels we choose, never your address, property details, or email. Property record pages are counted under one shared address, so our reports don’t show which homes were viewed. We also record how quickly each page loads and responds, as timings only. When an AI assistant uses our tools for you, we count which tool it called, the assistant’s name, and whether it worked, never what it asked about.
Who else sees it
Our hosting provider processes ordinary request data, such as IP addresses, to run and secure the site. Maps load their background tiles from OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address when a map is shown. Calculators and the homeowner guide run in your browser, and their answers are not sent to us. If you follow a link to a County or State website, its privacy policy applies.
Public records
Property records, assessments, and sales on this site come from public County and State records. They are shown as published, and we don’t add owner names to them.
Removing your information
Email hello@goodgrieves.com from the address you signed up with to remove a request or ask what we hold. We keep email requests until we’ve sent what you asked for, you ask us to remove them, or we no longer need them.
Children
This site is meant for adults dealing with property taxes. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. If we start sending emails, this page will say how to unsubscribe.
